Where was Gabe Kapler born?

Gabe Kapler is currently 47 years old as he was born on 31st July 1975. Kapler’s birthplace is Los Angeles, California as he was born in the neighborhood which is recently called Hollywood.

Gabe was born to Michael Kapler who is a music composer and songwriter and his mother’s name is Judy Kapler. She is a teacher in a Jewish school.

When Gabe was a young boy he attended country school along with his younger sibling Jeremy Kapler. When he was crossing the road to go to his school, Gabe was hit by a car which left him hospitalized.

Not only that Gabe was fearful of crossing roads after that ever since. To overcome this fear, Gabe began to play basketball for Reseda Little Little Team. Gabe was often teased for being the smallest player on the team however he was very talented which impressed his coaches even more.

Minor Leagues

In his first-ever professional Major League Baseball in 1995, Gabe was selected in the 57th position for Detroit Tigers.

Gabe was offered $10,000 as a signing-on bonus to play for Minor league Jamestown Jammers. He played 63 games for them and a year later went to Fayetteville Generals.

He was beginning to impress people around him leading the South Atlantic League in hits and doubles. Gabe was then selected for South Atlantic League All-Stars team.

A year later Gabe joined the Lakeland Flying Tigers and improved his game, even more, when he led Florida State League by doubles scoring 40 points.

Major League

In 1998 finally, Gabe Kapler made his Major League Debut with Detroit Tigers. He was selected as the 57th draft pick and became the first ever tiger to be selected last overall.

In 1999, Kapler became the youngest Tiger to score a homerun whose record was not broken till 2008. He also scored recorded 10 homerun within just over 60 matches.

During the entire season, a boy who never scored home runs in high school scored career-high 18 home runs and scored over 400 at bat.

A year later after being drafted by Detroit Tigers he was then transferred to Texas Rangers in a trade that involved Francisco Cordero, Bill Haselman, Frank Catalanotto, and Justin Thompson.

In the 2000 opening season, Gabe scored two home runs in the first match of the season which was also the record for any Texans.

Kapler’s Texan career was going smoothly as he scored 77 runs which included 17 home runs and stole 23 bases.

Gabe then joined Colorado rapids for a brief period before being traded to Boston Red Sox in 2003.

In 2003, Boston Red Sox purchased Kapler from Colorado Rapids where he played the majority of games in 2004. In 136 games, Gabe scored 6 home runs and drove 33 in 290 at-bats.

Gabe Kapler became match winner against New York Yankees as the Sox defeated them 5-4. In 2004 Boston Red Sox appeared in the finals of Major League Baseball after 86 years against St Louis Cardinals where they lifted the trophy as Kapler became one of the nine outfield players to witness the trophy celebration.

Managerial Career

After retiring from my playing career in 2011, Gabe got the offer of coaching immediately from the Israeli National Team. However, his team lost to Spain in the Pool finals.

Kapler left the post and decided to join Fox Sports as an analyst. He appeared frequently to give analysis in the game including MLB and other baseball tournaments.

In 2014, Kapler then joined Los Angeles Dodgers as the director of player development. Kapler introduced the idea of using only organic foods on the farm instead of junk food.

Handling of Complaints

One of the major complaints that Gabe Kapler was engulfed in was when he was in charge of player development for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The incident arose when a 17-year-old Dodger minor player videotaped a flight between two other women players and the complaint was sent to Kapler on his email.

However, instead of reporting it to the police, he called back the accuser and apologized instead. The next time the same accuser was caught shoplifting in which she revealed her email to the police and added she was also sexually assaulted.

Kapler regretted his decision of not informing the police and then later informed them about the incident.

Another major scandal that Gabe was involved in was when he decided to not come out of the dugout during the national anthem since he was upset with all the school shootings.
