In 2021 she began full practice for participation in the next Scripps National Spelling Bee but first, she participated and won the Brauntex Bee Regional Spelling Competition which qualified her as the top seed in the championship.
A year later on 3rd June 2022, she made history after winning the Scripps National Spelling Bee competition defeating Vikram Raju in the lightning tiebreaker.
In the lightning round, the winner had to spell more words correctly in 90 seconds where she spelled 22 of the 26 words correctly. Her winning word was Moorhen.
On the other hand, her competitor Raju could only answer 15 words in 90 seconds which made her the winner. As a winner, she received the prestigious Scripps trophy, $50,000 cash, and gift hampers from Merriam-Webster and Encyclopedia Britannica.
